This autumn, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO presents a rare opportunity to experience three UNESCO World Heritage temples—renowned for their autumn foliage—through an exclusive private tour limited to one group per day.
In addition to the highly acclaimed tours of Toji Temple, the head temple of Shingon Buddhism, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, this year we are delighted to introduce a new program at Byodoin Temple. Guests, guided by the head priest, in the serene atmosphere of the early morning.
Thanks to the cooperation of each temple, participants will enjoy privileged access to normally restricted areas and, through personal encounters and dialogue, gain a deeper appreciation of the faith, spirit, and aesthetic sensibilities that have been handed down for centuries.

Autumn Byodoin Temple Early Morning Private Tour
An exclusive early morning private tour at Byodoin Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy private access to the Phoenix Hall before opening hours, explore normally restricted areas and treasures with the Chief Priest, and conclude with a rare dialogue at the Yorin-an Shoin Residence—an experience available only through HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO.

Autumn Toji Temple Night Private Tour
Toji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage temple founded with the relocation of Heian-kyō, opens its gates for an exclusive private night tour. Amid the quiet after closing, savor the brilliance of autumn foliage and Buddhist artistry—an experience reserved only for guests of HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO.
Dates: November 28th (Fri), November 29th (Sat), November 30th (Sun), 2025 (3 days only)
Time: 9:00pm – approx. 10:30pm

Autumn Kiyomizu-dera Temple Early Morning Private Tour
HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is delighted to present its signature experience, the Kiyomizu-dera Temple Early Morning Private Tour, offered for three exclusive days during the peak autumn season.
In the stillness of early morning, guests will explore normally inaccessible areas such as the Inner Sanctuary of the National Treasure Main Hall and the Treasure Hall, guided by Shoin Onishi, steward of the temple.
Dates: November 25th (Tue), November 27th (Thu), December 2nd (Tue), 2025 (3 days only)
Time: 6:30am – approx. 8:30am
Number of Participants: One group per day, first-come basis (Maximum of 4 participants per group)

Cancellations made within 7 days of the tour date will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
