Spring Byodoin Temple Early Morning Private Tour 【Only one group per day】

Following the high acclaim received last autumn, the private tour of Byodoin Temple returns this spring.

In the hushed stillness of the early morning, guests are granted exclusive access to the beautiful Phoenix Hall, free from crowds, and the breathtaking scenery of Somei Yoshino and weeping cherry blossoms vividly reflected upon the Aji-ike Pond. Bathed in the light of dawn, the scene unfolds like a vision of the Buddhist Pure Land itself. Within the hall, where the aesthetic sensibilities of the Heian period still breathe, guests will come face-to-face with the Amida Nyorai Seated Statue, followed by a leisurely tour of the gardens and the Hoshokan Museum. The highlight of the program is an intimate dialogue with Chief Priest Monsho Kamii inside the Yorin-an Shoin Study at Jodoin Temple, an Important Cultural Property normally closed to the public.
