We're thrilled to present our guests at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO with a unique opportunity to witness the Aoi Matsuri, celebrated as one of the grandest festivals in Kyoto, from the comfort of exclusive viewing seats.
Embrace the vibrant early summer of Kyoto with the Aoi Matsuri, famed for its splendid historical parade that brings the elegance of ancient dynasties back to life. Experience the Roto no Gi, a meticulous reenactment featuring an imperial envoy, as if stepping back into a time long past, all from our specially reserved seats. Secure your spot in the front row at the procession's commencement, right before the majestic Kenreimon Gate of the Kyoto Imperial Palace and get up close with the rich pageantry and intricate details of the event.
Dive into the regal aura and artistic heritage of the imperial era, letting your mind wander through the serene Heian period.

Location: Special viewing seats near the Kenreimon Gate of the Kyoto Imperial Palace
Fee: 23,000 yen (per person, including tax and service charge) (For ages 4 and up)
*You must bring your own internet-connected smartphone or tablet, as well as headphones, to be able to listen to the live commentary.（No app download or account registration is necessary, the commentary will be available through a web browser.）
Parade Lead Pass Time: Kyoto Gyoen (Kenreimon Gate South Side) around 10:30AM
* Please arrive before the parade start time as seating cannot be guaranteed due to restrictions that may be applied shortly before the parade begins.
* Make sure to arrive at Kyoto Gyoen by the gathering time (10:00 AM).
* We cannot offer refunds if you are unable to be seated.
Seats are limited.
This experience is exclusive to hotel guests.
In case of rain, the event will be postponed to the next day, May 16th (the decision will be made early in the morning of the day).
If postponed, your viewing seat ticket will be valid for use on May 16th.
(Please note that refunds are not available)Guests checking in on the day of the event should come to the hotel in advance to pick up their tickets. Tickets are required for entry to the viewing area.
A 100% cancellation fee applies from 3 days before the event. Please be advised.
