The former Mitsui family residence on this site featured a traditional Japanese garden with a path around a pond, which has been recreated in its modern form. The Garden Room features a sofa lounger situated by the large window, where guests can take in unparalleled garden views, punctuated by the weeping cherry tree, water basin and stone lanterns. Embodying the teioku ichinyo concept, which celebrates harmony between home and nature, this room reflects the soul of Kyoto’s architectural spirit, garden traditions and culture.
