Available in limited quantities, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO’s original Christmas creations return for the festive season.
Our popular Kyoto Strawberry Shortcake, lavishly filled with Kyoto-grown strawberries and beautifully presented in an oju-style wooden box like a treasure chest, returns this year. A new individual size is also available for those wishing to enjoy the cake on their own.
Together with our ever-popular Kyotamba Chestnut Stollen, generously filled with premium chestnuts from Kyotamba, these three festive creations will bring an elegant touch to your Christmas celebrations.

Kyoto Strawberry Shortcake
A shortcake imbued with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic, featuring generous layers of Kyoto-grown strawberries beautifully arranged in a wooden box. Smooth fresh cream delicately scented with vanilla is paired with our pastry chef’s carefully crafted sponge. In addition to the larger size, presented with an original furoshiki wrapping cloth and ideal for gifting during the festive season, a new individual size is also available.

Kyotamba Chestnut Stollen
Our ever-popular original stollen brings together Japanese and Western sensibilities. A rich, buttery dough is generously filled with Japanese chestnuts from Kyotamba, with pistachios and pecans adding contrasting texture. The fragrant aroma of dried fruits steeped in mirin evokes the refined flavours of winter in Kyoto.
