Awarded Michelin’s Highest Three Key Hotel Distinction

Kyoto, Japan – HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO has been awarded the prestigious Three Key distinction in Japan’s second annual MICHELIN Key Hotel selection. Announced on 8 October 2025, these awards recognize unique luxury accommodations across the country.

Following the MICHELIN Guide’s celebrated restaurant ratings, the MICHELIN Key was introduced in 2024 as a new benchmark recognizing hotels that deliver truly exceptional experiences.

For the 2025 edition, the MICHELIN Guide hosted its first-ever global award ceremony in Paris, unveiling the list of distinguished hotels worldwide. More than 7,000 hotels from nearly 100 countries were selected, and among them, the prestigious Three Keys were awarded to the world’s most exceptional hotels. In 2025, only 143 properties worldwide — including just seven in Japan. HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is honored to be among these highest-ranked destinations.
