THE GARDEN BAR proudly presents the return of our Kyo-tamba Chestnut Afternoon Tea, crafted with support from Kyo-tamba Town and featuring chestnuts once reserved for the imperial court.

In celebration of Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, exclusive chestnut sweets will also be offered for two days only—an elegant tribute to the flavors of autumn.

Roasted Kyo-tamba Chestnut & Ice Cream
Carefully crafted by our Pastry Chef Itagaki, this dish celebrates the unadorned richness of the chestnut. Grilled over charcoal and served at the table, enjoy it first on its own, then paired with house-made milk ice cream for a delicate shift in flavor.

Kyo-tamba Chestnut Mont Blanc
A beloved annual favorite, now larger and more refined. Topped with a special sauce for an added layer of indulgence—pour as you wish to enjoy the evolving flavors.

Kyo-tamba-yaki Grill
A savory-sweet “oyaki”-style pastry filled with autumn’s flavors. Wrapped in fragrant bamboo leaves, each piece is gently grilled and delivered warm to your table by the Chef.

Terrace seating overlooking the autumn garden is also available. Savor a blissful moment as the foliage turns to brilliant shades of red.


Kyo-tamba Chestnut Dorayaki – Limited Expo Edition

At Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO will offer a limited-time chestnut sweet on October 5th and 6th. This special dorayaki encloses a whole simmered chestnut in honey caramel sauce, wrapped in fluffy cake infused with Kyo-tamba chestnut honey. A mini version is also featured in the afternoon tea.
