From Wednesday 29 April to 30 June 2026, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO presents its Early Summer Afternoon Tea for a limited season, to be enjoyed while gazing out over the courtyard, where vivid green maples shimmer in the fresh light of early summer.

Delicate sweets, crafted with seasonal melon and matcha, offer a refreshing harmony of flavours and shades of green, complemented by savouries inspired by the colours and lightness of the season. Guests are welcomed with a cup of exquisite gyokuro from Ryuōen, a venerable Kyoto tea merchant with a history spanning more than 150 years. Served in fine examples of Kyoto’s traditional craftsmanship, including handcrafted tea caddies and bowls, each cup offers a moment of quiet indulgence.

For those seeking an elevated experience, the much-loved Premium Option features a refined melon parfait created by our Pastry Chef, Itagaki, together with a selection of three original mocktails. In the tranquil setting of our hotel, where Japanese aesthetics are expressed in every detail, we invite you to savour an elegant afternoon tea enveloped in the gentle radiance of fresh greenery.
