etsuya Asano, Head Chef of TOKI, Wins the Bocuse d’Or 2027 Asia-Pacific Selection

We are delighted to announce that Tetsuya Asano, Head Chef of our signature restaurant TOKI, has won the Bocuse d’Or 2027 Asia-Pacific Selection, held in Macau on 1 and 2 November 2026.

Established in 1987 by Paul Bocuse, widely regarded as the ‘Father of Modern French Cuisine’, the Bocuse d’Or is recognised as one of the world's most prestigious culinary competitions. Held every two years in Lyon, France, it brings together some of the finest culinary talents from around the globe.

Selected to represent Japan at the Bocuse d’Or 2027, Chef Asano delivered an outstanding performance to secure first place in the Asia-Pacific qualifying round.

The Bocuse d’Or 2027 Grand Final will take place on 24 and 25 January 2027, during the Sirha international hospitality and food service trade fair in Lyon. A total of 24 countries, including those qualifying from five regions – Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East – will compete for the coveted title of world champion.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the warm support and encouragement that have contributed to this remarkable achievement. We hope you will continue to lend your support to Team Japan as they prepare for the Grand Final in January 2027.

Lunch guests at TOKI can also enjoy a specially adapted version of Chef Asano's ‘Carrot Gnocchi’, originally created for the Bocuse d’Or 2027, which has been featured on our lunch menu since October 2026.
