For restaurant guests with allergies

We will do our utmost to ensure that all guests with a food allergy dining at our restaurants will have an outstanding experience.

Our restaurant staff at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO will be sure to ask guests to inform them as to any food allergies, both when reservations are made, and also when food orders are taken from guests in the restaurant.

We have prepared a Hypoallergenic Menu for guests that need to avoid the 7 Major Food Allergens and the 18 Corresponding Food Allergens.

Information on Food Allergens

The 7 Major Food Allergens are:

Eggs, Milk, Wheat, Buckwheat, Peanuts, Prawns and Crab

The 21 Corresponding Food Allergens are:

Fish: Abalone, Squid, Salmon Roe, Salmon, Mackerel
Meat: Beef, Chicken, Pork
Fruits: Oranges, Kiwi Fruits, Bananas, Peaches, Apples
Other foodstuffs: Gelatin, Walnuts, Soy, Matsutake Mushrooms, Japanese Yam, Almond, Cashew Nuts, Sesame

Points to Note Regarding Food Allergy Compliance

The information relating to food products that we use in our restaurants come from the manufacturer or source. As our hotel uses the same kitchen to prepare and cook food, and restaurant utensils and crockery as well as kitchen equipment is washed in the same machines, there is a possibility of cross-contamination involving very small amounts of food allergen products. As a result, we are unable to offer a menu that guarantees complete allergen-free compliance and we ask for our guests understanding in this regard. In order to safeguard the health of customers with severe/acute allergies, we may be forced to refuse reservations in certain specific situations. Again, we ask for our guests understanding in this regard. Upon placing their food order, the restaurant guest is deemed to have understood this compliance statement and agrees that the final decision regarding their food allergy rests with the guest themselves.
