Back by Popular Demand: Kyo-tamba Chestnut Afternoon Tea Returns <October 1st to November 30th, 2024>
Following on from its successful run last year, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is delighted to bring back the Kyotamba Chestnut Afternoon Tea for a limited period from October 1, 2024. With the full support from local government and the farming community of the region, this menu features Kyotamba chestnuts and other locally sourced ingredients nurtured by the rich soil and pure water of Kyotamba, offering a taste of the autumn harvest.
Kyo-tamba Town × HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO: Kyo-tamba Chestnut Afternoon Tea
Centered around the premium ingredient Kyotamba Chestnut, which were historically grown to be presented as gifts to the imperial court and shogunate, this afternoon tea set includes sweets and savories made with seasonal ingredients from Kyotamba.

During the promotion, various menus featuring Kyo-tamba ingredients will be available in the restaurant and bar. At TOKI, a dish using the rare Daikoku Honshimeji mushroom, known for its rich flavor and recognized as a Kyoto Brand Product, will be offered. At the Italian restaurant FORNI, a dessert abundant with Kyotamba chestnuts will be served. Each dish highlights the exceptional produce of Kyotamba, known as a treasure trove of flavors. At THE GARDEN BAR, enjoy a special cocktail with a smoky presentation inspired by the Tamba Mist, an autumnal phenomenon that helps nurture Kyotamba's vibrant crops.
THE SHOP - Kyo-tamba Chestnut Chocolat
In THE SHOP located on the hotel's B1F, a new special sweet featuring the finest Kyotamba chestnuts will be introduced. These large chestnuts are simmered in their skins, coated in caramel chocolate, adorned with gold leaf, and presented in a wooden box, reminiscent of a tribute offering.
