Bocuse d'Or International Culinary Competition 2027 Japan Representative Chef Tetsuya Asano invites you to a Chef's Table Event<January 28th, 2024 (Sun)>

At HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, a one-night-only Chef's Table event will be held on Sunday January 28th, 2024, featuring Tetsuya Asano, who will be representing Japan in the Bocuse d'Or International Culinary Competition 2027.

This event will feature special courses created with the passionate spirit of competition, using beni-zuwai crab and flounder from Tottori Prefecture, as well as micro herbs from Murakami Farm, which were used by Chef Asano as ingredients in the final competition to decide the Japan representative for the Bocuse d'Or 2027. Attendees will also enjoy hearing stories first-hand from Chef Asano about his experience in the competition, his resolve to represent Japan in the final in 2027, and his future prospects. Along with wine pairings selected by our sommelier, we aim to deliver a unique gourmet experience filled with surprises and excitement.

Bocuse d'Or International Culinary Competition

The Bocuse d'Or International Culinary Competition is a globally renowned French cuisine competition, established in 1987 by Paul Bocuse, known as the father of modern French cuisine. Recognized as the most prestigious competition for chefs worldwide, it is held every two years in Lyon, France. Chef Tetsuya Asano, chef de cuisine at TOKI, the signature restaurant at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, won the Japanese national competition to qualify as the nation’s representative for the 2025 and 2027 team and individual competitions.
