Notification regarding the response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO

HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO has collaborated with Ecolab (Ecolab G.K., a Japanese company), a global leader in infection prevention solutions, to formulate a hygiene promotion programme against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), so that our guests can stay with us and enjoy our
facilities with peace of mind. We have incorporated Ecolab’s know-how and scientific approaches into our hygiene and cleaning procedures. We would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of your fellow guests and hotel staff during your stay with us in Kyoto.

GBAC STAR™ certification is awarded to facilities that meet international hygiene standards

OTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO has acquired GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation, which certifies that our property meets international hygiene standards in terms of infection prevention measures, ensuring that guests can use hotel facilities safely and securely.

What we ask of our guests:

  • If you have a fever or feel unwell, please do not visit the hotel.

  • When you arrive at the hotel, we will take your temperature using a non-contact thermometer. If your temperature is above 37.5C, please understand that you will not be permitted to enter the hotel.

  • When entering the hotel, please wear a mask and disinfect your hands and fingers with the sanitiser provided.

  • If you feel any changes in your health during your stay, please inform hotel staff.

Hotel initiatives - our commitment to our guests:

  • The hotel is constantly ventilated, regularly cleaned and sanitized, and all equipment is sterilised.

  • Hand and finger sanitisers are available throughout the hotel.

  • We have limited lift capacity to a maximum of 4 persons.

  • All hotel staff wear masks, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers and gargle.

Regarding your stay with us:

  • We have placed partitions at each counter and desk to prevent droplet infection.

  • All check-in equipment is thoroughly sterilised.

  • Hotel staff are not allowed in the rooms during your stay.

  • Room cleaning during your stay is carried out at the guest's request.

  • The hotel staff wear masks, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers and gargle thoroughly.

  • Upon check-in, each group will be given their own disinfectant spray so that you can disinfect any areas of concern yourself.

Regarding the guest rooms:

  • Housekeeping staff wear masks and face shields, wash their hands, sterilise their hands and fingers, gargle and change gloves.

  • We have removed all magazines from the rooms.

Regarding our restaurants and THERMAL SPRING SPA:

  • Please wear a mask and sterilise your hands/fingers. A member of staff will take your temperature with a non-contact thermometer when you enter the restaurant.

  • Please note that guests with a temperature of 37.5C or higher will not be allowed to enter the restaurant.

  • All areas of our restaurants are thoroughly sanitised and cleaned.

  • Tables and seats have been well spaced given due consideration for social distancing.

  • Masks are worn by staff during SPA treatments.

  • Please note that the Thermal Spring and Fitness Gym may become a little crowded at certain times of day.
